As per the new regulation of NCTE 2014, the practice teaching in schools by the teacher education institutes have been changed to Internship programmes for the students. They are supposed to practice their teaching skills as interns in schools. B.Ed. I year student teachers undergo an internship of 24 days period while it is 96 days for the IInd year B.Ed.
Students-Teachers have to fill 10 blocks and districts schools of their choice where they want to intern through Shala Darshan Portal. Once they are registered, they are allotted vacant schools by the DEO, School Education Department. Govt. of Rajasthan, as per the choice priorities. Schools are allotted through centralized allotment process. Student-teachers are required to report at allotted school within ten working days from the date of allotment along with the required documents for verification. Student teachers while interning, have to control all the activities of the school including making time tables, implementing it, taking classes, maintain attendance registers, taking tests and making report cards, conducting prayers and assemblies, teaching all subjects besides their teaching subject, Internship helps the institution to ensure the inclusion of various aspects like inter disciplinary, multi-skill development practice teaching, school experience and work experience etc. in the curriculum. During Internship they get complete experiences of a school. Internship is compulsory for all student teacher. Their result is not declared until and unless they complete their internship. On its completion, they have to submit their internship letter, internship diary and other required documents in their respective colleges.
